A pathfinder and an explorer
Bek is a highly skilled and accomplished business leader with a global perspective and deep expertise in corporate valuations, capital markets, restructurings, and international operations. As the CEO of Orisuun, he draws on over 12 years of experience across multiple continents, having lived and worked extensively in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
Starting his career shortly after the 2009 financial crisis, Bek played an important role in the complex and highly challenging process of unwinding some of the world’s largest failed banks. This hands-on experience with a large-scale financial crisis solidified his status as an adept practitioner in financial restructurings.
Honing expertise
During that process and throughout his career, Bek has honed a deep expertise in corporate and asset valuations. Now considered a specialist in corporate valuations, Bek has an exceptional ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis to assess the intrinsic value of complex organizations and assets. His approach blends rigorous data-driven analysis with a deep understanding of market and broader economic dynamics. His expertise in navigating intricate valuation processes has positioned him as a trusted advisor to the markets at large.
In addition to his valuation expertise, Bek is known for his innovative approach to evaluating deal structures and how they fit in the capital markets cycles, having worked on deals as an attorney and financial analyst in both the public and private sectors. His deep knowledge of global capital markets and their intricacies has allowed him to identify investment risks and opportunities with precision and foresight.
Success in analytics and building global products
Beyond his practitioner roles, Bek is widely recognized for his impressive research contributions to the fields of debt restructuring and recovery. A frequent conference speaker, he is known for his highly-cited research that has influenced both academic thought and practical applications in corporate finance. His work has been referenced by industry leaders, policymakers, and academics alike, positioning him as a thought leader in the field.
A true pathfinder, Bek has hands-on experience in building global products from scratch - turning nascent ideas into fully realized market solutions. Under Bek's leadership, S&P Global (home of the Dow and S&P 500) successfully developed a new analytical product for corporate loan agreements that has disrupted the market and made the company a major player in the space.
